Citadel’s Griffin says he has not supported Donald Trump for president

By Davide Barbuscia

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Citadel CEO Ken Griffin said on Thursday that he has not supported Donald Trump for president in the upcoming U.S. presidential election.

“I have not supported Donald Trump, I’m so torn on this one,” the hedge fund billionaire and Republican mega-donor told journalists at an event in New York.

“There are real issues with both candidates, neither of the candidates are going to receive an award for the quality of their policies, and frankly, I think neither candidate’s going receive an award for the quality of their leadership — I think this is a deeply personal year for every American voter,” he said.

Griffin has previously expressed skepticism about Trump, who is running against democratic Vice President Kamala Harris in the Nov. 5 election.

“I know who I’m going to vote for, but it’s not with a smile on my face,” Griffin said.
