Larry Ellison, the co-founder and Executive Chairman of Oracle Corp, recently dropped a bombshell during his presentation at CloudWorld. Ellison disclosed that Oracle is working on a next-generation law enforcement vehicle, which will be none other than Tesla’s Cybertruck.
Ellison couldn’t hide his excitement about the Cybertruck, saying it’s not only his top pick for a vehicle but also that of Tesla CEO Elon Musk. He went on to describe the Cybertruck as “astonishing” and insinuated that he has privileged information about features still under wraps, making the vehicle a perfect fit for Oracle’s specialized needs.
During his CloudWorld presentation, Ellison displayed a conceptual image of what Oracle’s future police vehicle would look like, based on the Tesla Cybertruck. “It’s the car of my dreams; it’s also Elon Musk’s. There are amazing aspects of this vehicle that are yet to be revealed,” he commented.
Although Ellison didn’t get into the fine details of why Oracle has chosen the Cybertruck for this initiative, it’s plausible that the vehicle’s advanced electric engine, state-of-the-art technology, and design could meet the rigorous demands of law enforcement applications. Given the Cybertruck’s presumed high resilience and excellent off-road performance, these traits could be particularly beneficial for police departments.
The significance of Ellison’s revelation extends beyond just Oracle; it serves as a pivotal moment for the broader adoption of electric vehicles in governmental and public service fleets. The announcement accentuates the versatility of the Cybertruck, showing that its utility spans a variety of roles, from individual use to public safety applications.
