Trump to announce Medicare pilot program to pay for CBD treatments, report says

WASHINGTON, ⁠Dec 18 (Reuters) – Donald ⁠Trump is expected to announce ⁠a pilot program to reimburse Medicare ​patients’ CBD treatments, the ‍Washington Post reported on Thursday, when the U.S. president is ​also expected to address the potential loosening of U.S. marijuana regulations.

Citing ​six people familiar with ⁠the plans, the report ‌said the Centers for Medicare and ⁠Medicaid Services, which ​oversees the federal health ‌insurance program for older Americans, could launch ‍the pilot as soon as next year and has previously examined paying for CBD, or cannabidiol, use to help treat cancer.
